Floyd Brent Hansen

August 23, 1935 — August 18, 2018

Floyd B. Hansen passed away on August 18, 2018 at the age of 82 in Snowflake, Arizona. He was the youngest, born to the late Delbert and Alice (Smith) Hansen on August 23, 1935 in Joseph City, Arizona. Floyd grew up on the family dairy farm which would eventually be his life career. After graduating from high school in 1953, he later enrolled in Brigham Young University for two years before serving as a missionary in the Central States Mission.  After returning home he continued his studies at BYU where he graduated with a degree in Animal Husbandry.

On July 31, 1964, Floyd married Karen Elizabeth Pihl in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Floyd was a devoted dairyman, farmer and rancher as a partner in Hansen Brothers and Midway Dairy. Five years after the death of his wife Karen, he married Lynne C. Westover on December 6, 2003 in the Snowflake Arizona Temple.

Floyd will be remembered for his quiet wittiness and clever use of words. He was an avid reader, liked listening and dancing to good music, and relished in good political conversation. He was firmly committed to his family, church and community as a stalwart example of faith and endurance.
