Ernest Henderson

Ernest Eugene "Tuney" Henderson, was born on October 28, 1931, in Hughes, Arkansas, to James Henderson and Grace Henderson. He passed away on November 20, 2023, in Show Low, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Delores, daughters Doris Davis, Anita (Steve) Lutz, Diane (Bob) Wolf, and sons Jim (Donna) Henderson, and Ric Henderson, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Tuney met Delores in 1950 and they were married in August of 1951. He served in the Navy from October 31, 1950, through August 17, 1954. He served in the Arizona Air National Guard from August 5, 1960, through August 4, 1984. He served in the Arizona Air National Guard Reserve from August 5, 1984, through January 9, 1989, when he was fully retired as Chief Master Sergeant.

Tuney loved spending time with his wife and family. He was a softball coach, a great pool player, a good golfer, an avid reader, and enjoyed working the daily crossword puzzle. He was a man of few words so when he talked, you listened! He was a great husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend. He will be missed!
