Ferrell Fish

August 6, 1937 — September 6, 2024

E. Ferrell Fish, age 87, passed away with his wife Joan Fish in a car accident in Show Low, Arizona on September 6th, 2024.

Ferrell is survived by seven children, Joan Fish Pearce (Joy T Pearce), Kathryn Fish Gomez (Marcio Gomez), Janet Fish Russell (Ronald Russell), Beverly Fish Wilcock (Blaine Wilcock), David Fish (Cami Cluff Fish), Paul Fish (Alicia Vance Fish), Jonathan Fish (Sherry Harms Fish), 34 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Busby Fish, and his sisters Mona Fish Wimmer and Beth Fish.

Ferrell was born August 6th, 1937, to Rollin J Fish and Vida Mae Hunt in Lakeside, Arizona. In that same small town, he graduated from Lakeside High School. His life was dedicated to helping and teaching others. Ferrell worked 42 years for Blue Ridge High School, teaching, coaching and working in administration. He was a positive influence on countless youth in the community. Ferrell loved the White Mountains of Arizona. When time would allow, you would find him hiking, fishing, and cutting wood. Ferrell often used his hobbies to minister and serve others. He cut countless cords of wood for others and shared the bounties of his garden. Many saw him as a kind and generous neighbor. On snowy days you would often see him shoveling driveways of elderly people, sometimes even helping those who were younger than him.

Throughout his life, Ferrell served three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His first was in the Western States Mission, the second in Romania (with first wife Nancy Fish), and the last in Nampa Idaho (with second wife, Joan Fish). He loved his Savior and always did his best to emulate Him with acts of service and kindness. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving weekly in the temple and ministering to those around him constantly. He was a great example of following the Savior to his last day.

Ferrell was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. He tenderly cared for his first wife through her struggle with cancer and cared for his second wife with equal tenderness through her bouts of illness.

He will be greatly missed, but his legacy of love will live on.
