Elizabeth “Willy” Butler, 80, of Holbrook, AZ, went home to the Lord on December 23, 2022.
Born on July 20, 1942 in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Harriet Murphy and George Butler. Elizabeth traveled and lived in various states all over the country. Elizabeth moved to Arizona in the 1970’s to pursue her passion of writing. She worked as an editor in Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to Holbrook, Arizona in the early 2000’s. In her later years, she enjoyed waitressing at Mr. Maestas and bartending at the Elks Lodge 2450. Elizabeth made friends where ever she went and was loved by all. Elizabeth kept in touch with all the friends she made in her journeys. She prayed for everyone she loved on a daily basis. Elizabeth was the queen of Jeopardy and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her brothers Daniel Murphy (Pamela) of Port Tobacco, MD and Dennis Murphy of Annapolis, MD; Nieces Ashley Koch (Mark), of King George, VA, Amy Calvin (Matthew) of King George, VA, April Murphy (Erick) of King George, VA, Laurie Zuiderhof (Matt) of Ellicott City, MD, Lisa Collison (Kevin) of Edgewater, MD and nephew Charles Murphy (Megan) of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by many close friends, including her dear friend Sirena Tracas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge 2450, 714 Elkdom Ave., Holbrook, AZ on Saturday, January 14th at 2:00pm.
