Edwin Bordeaux went to his eternal rest Saturday March 23, 2019, peacefully at home. He was born Feb. 21, 1934 in Muskegon, Michigan.
Ed loved to talk about his past days of working the "high steel" and his days in Seattle, but most of all, his job as a maintenance worker for The Salvation Army in Tucson. Ed loved the Army. You could find him and his bride of 56 years ringing the bells for the Army at K-mart in Show Low every Christmas season. And many people knew him because of that. He is now ringing that bell in heaven's bell choir. He loved to say that he and Bessie prayed the Army into the White Mountains. His life was one of hard work and much love to his bride, Bessie married Jan. 12, 1963. Ed and Bessie moved to the White Mountains of Arizona after his retirement from The Salvation Army in Tucson in 1992.
Ed is survived by his wife Bessie, daughters Norma (Gordon) Buzzell of Muskegon, Michigan, Barbara (Lenard) Sibley of West Olive, Michigan, Diana (Henry) McManamey of Spring Lake, Michigan; brothers: Robert and Leo Bordeaux of Muskegon, Michigan, and Tom (Sharon) Bordeaux of Tennessee. Ed also boasted nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Michigan gets cold.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Solterra Senior Living, 5408 AZ-260 in Lakeside, in the activities room.
