Our beloved Dollie Mae Grant, born February 2, 1954, in Cibecue, AZ, passed away on November 23, 2024, in Show Low, AZ.
Dollie is survived by her husband, Leon Grant; son, Matthew Grant; grandchildren, Patrick, Anjali, Koleson, and Skylar Grant; sister, Beverly Townsend; and brother, Roy Burdette.
Despite living with a physical disability, Dollie never allowed it to limit her ability to live a full and meaningful life. Her experiences shaped her deep love for people, especially children. Dollie attended Cibecue Community Schools, Haskell Indian Nations College, Phoenix College, and Northland Pioneer College, remaining a lifelong student who had a passion for learning.
Dollie was employed at Luke Air Force Base as a child caretaker and at Sky Harbor Airport as a baggage attendant. She also opened her home to care for many children over the years.
Throughout her life, Dollie attended numerous church and women's conferences, traveling from Phoenix to Texas, and forming lasting friendships along the way in her Christian walk. A devoted sports fan, Dollie was especially fond of the Phoenix Suns.
Dollie will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious laugh, and the love she showed to everyone she encountered.
Services were held Monday December 2, 2024 with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Al Campsen. Interment Running Water Cemetery, Cibecue AZ.
