Debra Ann Winget (Hurt) was born in a US Air Force Hospital in England on October 20, 1952 to Charlie and Dorothy Hurt. Her dad was in the Army, so Debra became a world traveler at an early age. She lived in England and Germany before moving to the United States. She lived in Hawaii with her mom and dad until moving to Texas where her brother Charles was born.
She was a North High-Class of 1971 graduate and went on to Bakersfield College where she earned her Associates Degree in business management. She worked for California Republic Bank in the data center before she began her 24-year career at Interim HealthCare of Bakersfield.
Debra is survived by her husband of 34 years Ralph Winget, her mother and best friend Dorothy Hurt, her brother Charles Hurt, her daughter Beth Parker, and her fur baby, Kali.
Debra was a beautiful soul and if you knew her, you loved her. She was a dear friend to all who knew her. She was your best friend who was crazy and thoughtful. She was always willing to go above and beyond to make everything better for everyone else. She truly put everyone else’s needs above her own and gave all she had in every aspect of her life. She was an awesome person with a beautiful smile that would light up any room. Her energetic and gregarious personality made for fun times. There was never a dull moment with Debra around. She made everyone laugh and even cry from her outgoing personality. She was a caring, loving, kind-hearted, and generous woman. Debra was truly one-of-a-kind and loved life.
Debra was a wonderful mother to her daughter, Beth, and Ralph’s children, Robin and Ryan. Anytime they needed her, she was always there with love and support and anything else she thought the kids needed.
Debra led an adventurous lifestyle full of traveling, yachting, cruising, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, camping, snow skiing, and flying the airplane. She did all of this with her fur baby Kali and her two best friends by her side, her devoted husband Ralph and her loving mother Dorothy.
Debra went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 16, 2021 at 68 years young. May she rest in peace knowing how much she was loved.
