Debra Kay Pundt

February 27, 1955 — December 11, 2021

Debra was born in Tucson, Arizona, where she married her high school sweetheart and, together, they started a wonderful journey. Debra started her phlebotomist job at a Plasma recovery center and ended up at El Dorado Hospital, where she worked for 5 years. She then became a homemaker, raising her two wonderful children.

She and her husband, Jeff, were on the Wild Wild West dance team and taught country western dances. She and Jeff competed in three different dance competitions dancing the "Two-Step" and "The Waltz." They took 1st place, in one of the competitions hosted in Tucson; and 8th place, in an Arizona State Competition. Debra was a well-known lifetime member of the Western Music Association.  She held the office of Executive Director and was also a board member for many years.

She started working at Cowtown Boots in Tucson as a sales associate and worked her way up to the general manager position. She was the general manager for 20+ years before retiring and moving to Show Low, Arizona. She loved spending time looking for deer, elk and antelope as they drove through the forests and around the lakes of the White Mountains. She also enjoyed fishing at those same lakes.  She passed in the town she retired to in Lakeside, Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, of 48 years, Jeffrey Pundt; son, Mark (Deborah) Pundt; Daughter, Sherry Pundt; grandson, Dominik Pundt (Mark); sister, Linda (Shaw) Black; Brother, Ronald Shaw; many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.  She was loved by many who were not of blood relation.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Shaw and Mary A. (Hopkins) Shaw; many aunts, uncles, cousins & in-laws.

Debra's graveside service will begin 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 12, 2022, at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Avenue in Tucson, Arizona. Immediately following her graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering at Cowtown Boots, 5190 N. Casa Grande Hwy in Tucson, Arizona. 

Memorial contributions, in Debra's name, may be made to your favorite charity.
