Deborah Dawn Haggart

April 12, 1952 — June 23, 2018

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Debbie Haggart, 66, of Pinetop-Lakeside peacefully fell asleep in death on June 23, 2018 in Show Low, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Iona Morgan and her sister Diane Harman.  She is survived by her husband Kim Haggart, son John Haggart, daughter Audra Serrano and brother Richard Morgan.  She is also survived by 3 grandchildren.

Debbie was born Deborah Dawn Morgan to Richard and Iona Morgan in Buffalo, NY on April 12, 1952.  She was the youngest of 3 Children.  She moved with her family to Southern California in 1966.  She met her future husband in High School in the summer of 1968.  They were married on June 24, 1972.  The following year they were blessed with a daughter, Audra, and two years later a son, John.

Debbie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the District Convention in Anaheim, California on July 20, 1970.

She loved music and played both the accordion and the piano.  She played the piano for both congregational meetings and circuit assemblies before prerecorded music was supplied by the Branch office.  Often, on Friday nights, she and her family would invite friends over to sing Kingdom songs, selecting the favorites of those in attendance.  These were followed by refreshments, another of her specialties.

She loved animals.  We used to joke that if it had 4 legs and fur, she wanted it as a pet.  Later, after being able to pet a rhinoceros, we had to drop “and fur” from her pet list.

Debbie was an avid fisherman, she used to fish often in the mountain lakes of Southern California after working nights as the night manager of the local Wal-Mart.

After her father died in 1981 after an extended illness, Debbie took care of her mother until 2002 when her own health issues made such care impossible.

Before her health deteriorated, she and her family had the privilege of having book studies and field service arrangements in their home.  Debbie always made “goodies” for after the Book Study, making them one of the best attended Book Studies in the Congregation.

Debbie always loved talking to her neighbors about the Bible and God’s Kingdom even devoting 90 hours per month in the ministry from 1988 thru 1993.

Debbie’s outstanding qualities were her love, kindness, generosity and industriousness.  Her greatest love was for her God and Father, Jehovah.  She looked forward to the time when God’s Kingdom will turn the earth into a paradise and we will be reunited with our loved ones in the resurrection.

Debbie’s Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 201 E. Whipple, Show Low, AZ.
