Dean Kendall Johnson passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at his home in Lakeside, Arizona, with his family around him. He was born May 7, 1939 in Lakeside, Arizona to Charles and Gwen Johnson.
Kendall grew up in the Snowflake-Show Low area and graduated from Snowflake High School. He loved music and played trombone and piano. He attended Brigham Young University, before going on a mission to Australia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After he returned he when back to BYU to finish his degree in Business Management/Accounting. While at BYU he courted and married his wife, Jacqulyne. They were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They were married for almost 60 years. After graduating he worked in California for a year and then Kendall and Jacque moved back to Arizona to work for General Electric. They settled in Tempe, Arizona to raise their 4 children: Bryce, Daron, Rachelle and Alyson. Kendall started his own software accounting business and developed software for accountants and non-profit companies all over the United States.
Kendall was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Bishop, clerk, executive secretary, and home teacher. He loved to serve and he had a deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He also loved to study the scriptures and share words of wisdom with his children, siblings and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqulyne; his children, Bryce (Laura) Johnson, Daron (Dennis) Johnson, Rachelle Johnson, and Alyson (Jed) Larson; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Duane and Craig, and his sisters, Valaine, Linda, and Wendy. His brother, Raleigh, preceded him in death.
Services will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Lakeside on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 am, with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery following the service.
The family is grateful for all the kindness that family and friends have shown during this time. Accord Hospice has been so helpful in their service and so kind in helping us care for Kendall the last few weeks. And thank you to Owens Livingston Mortuary for your help, guidance, and compassion during this time.
