David Lloyd Blaine passed away peacefully at home Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the age of 75, after a valiant 25 year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Bingham Canyon, UT to Willis and Veola Blaine.
The family later moved to Terreton, Idaho to farm and this is where David spent his childhood. David served in the Central America Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1963-1966. After that he graduated with a degree in Economics from Brigham Young University. David married Diane McMullin in 1967 in the St. George, Utah temple. They had five children who were his pride and joy. David especially loved playing with and taking his family on fun adventures, often involving dangerous outdoor activities like white water rafting. David was especially famous for his mechanical mind. He could take apart and fix about anything. He also enjoyed inventing things as well. Economics remained a favorite topic of his during his life and he even wrote two books on the subject.
Diane passed away in 2001. David married Deon Peterson in 2002. Deon lovingly cared for David through the hardest parts of the David's battle with Parkinson's disease.
David is survived by his wife Deon, son Myron (Angela), son Dan (Sara), son Kevin (April), daughter Cindy (Joe), son Nathan (Jennifer), 24 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers Willis, Kay, and sisters Iris and Julia.
The family would like to thank Accord Hospice and Hospice Compasses for their service to David. Special thanks to his nurses Annie Murphy and Becky Burleson and the aides Jenilyn Wells and Grant Cooper who compassionately served David during his final three 3 years. Also thank you to the Snowflake Senior Center, which has been part of his life for the last 12 years.
There will be a graveside service for David on Saturday, June 22nd at 10:00 am at the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, AZ.
