Danny Ray Scarrow

April 21, 1954 — September 12, 2021

Danny “Dan” Ray Scarrow was born on April 21, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa and was in the arms of his loving Savior on September 12, 2021.

Dan was preceded to Heaven by Barbara Wingate Scarrow, his high school sweetheart and wife of 21 years, and by his parents Raymond Scarrow and Roberta Miller. He is survived by his loving wife Denise Green Scarrow and his children, Annissa Scarrow (RJ) and Matt Scarrow (Belia); step-sons, Kent Ridgway (Katrina), BJ Ridgway (Erin); grandchildren: Andria, Bailey, Madison, Cierra, Zach, Aaron, Tristan, Jacob, Jace, Michaela, and Rowy.  He is also survived by his brother Dave Scarrow and sister Debra Guillen (Rosie).

Dan loved being out in God’s creation, camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. His family moved to Yuma in 1961.  Later on he attended Kofa High School where he met his high school sweetheart. Dan and Barbara were married in 1976. He finished his HVAC (heating and cooling) degree, and they started their family. In the late 1980s, they moved to the White Mountains and attended White Mountain Bible Church. Due to Barbara’s health, they moved back to Yuma in the 1990s. After Barbara passed away and their kids graduated from high school, Dan returned to his beloved White Mountains. He was born 995 ft above sea level, and he grew up in Yuma 141 ft above sea level, but he was most at home above 6,000 feet here in the White Mountains.

Dan renewed an acquaintance with Denise at White Mountain Bible Church. Their acquaintance became a friendship, and their friendship became love, and their love deepened after they were married in 2008. Dan and Denise were a very good fit for each other. They loved camping, fishing, hunting, cooking, and spending time together. They loved friends and family and meeting new friends along their journey. They loved traveling, visiting 21 states and the nation’s capital, appreciating the awesomeness of God’s creation and the beauty of our great country. But one of their favorite places to be was at White Mountain Bible Church, because of their love for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and His church.

Dan was known as a guy who could fix almost anything, but his greatest skill was showing God’s love and grace to each person he met. He was always hugging, helping, serving, and caring for the people God brought into his life. Dan would like you to trust and follow Jesus Christ just like he did—he would love to hug you again in heaven.
