Daniel Claude Davis died Friday morning, October 8, 2021, at the Summit Healthcare Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona. He was 78 years old. Daniel was born on a Sunday, August 22, 1943, in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa to his parents, the late Clifford Maurice and Ethel Pearl (McCabe) Davis.
Daniel was a graduated member of Ankeny High School's Class of 1961 in Ankeny, Iowa. Just a few months following his high school graduation, Daniel enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his country. He married his forever sweetheart on November 28, 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa. They most recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary together and were looking forward to their 55th.
Daniel was a man who spent his life in the service of others. Following his military service, he began a long and successful career working at the post office in service to his communities as a postal clerk and mail handler. His favorite service was that of his family. He loved them all so much and provided for them very well. He was a loving husband and father, and grandfather to his family and they all will greatly miss him.
Daniel Claude Davis is survived by his wife, Mary Davis; 4 children: Frank (Evelyn "Lyn") Widner, Brenda Stish, Teresa (Brian Severson) Robinson, Daniel Davis, Jr., 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside committal service with military honors will begin 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 21, 2021, at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix, Arizona.
