Buck Allen Sinclair

January 18, 1941 — January 17, 2022

Buck Allen Sinclair died Monday, January 17, 2022, at his home in Show Low, Arizona following a lengthy illness. He was 80 years old.

Buck was born on January 18, 1941, in Seminole, Seminole County, Oklahoma to his parents, the late Major Emjay and Ruby Mary (Middleton) Sinclair. He moved to Arizona in 1958. As a young man, he worked at various jobs mainly doing farm work. He worked hard throughout his life but he always made sure he enjoyed the work that he did. He worked with his Uncle Loren and Aunt Wanda (whom he called "Mom") in Buckeye. While there, he was able to work alongside with his cousins, Bob, Hazel and Renee whom were like 'brothers and sisters' to him. He later went into the landscaping and gardening business where he had various jobs and duties. He was a palm tree trimmer across the valley for quite a few years. Not being able to use a cherry picker to trim the trees, he literally climbed the trees with a hip belt and his spiked boots. He had a few hair-raising experiences trimming those trees.

In the early 1970s, Buck moved to the White Mountains and called them "home" for the rest of his life. He worked 23 years pushing snow for the Navajo County Road Maintenance Yard. Buck then worked 10 years "double-capping" as a Navajo County  Deputy Sheriff and Park Ranger. Buck then went back to work at the NC Road Yard. He helped cut out Penrod Road and had his hand in making many other roads including Lone Pine Dam Road. He also was on crew to build the roads, armadas and playground in the White Mountain Lake area.

Buck is survived by his wife, Joy Lynn (Midyett) Sinclair; son, Clifford Aaron (Jonelle) Sinclair; grandchildren: Falon, Daniel, Wyatt, Summer, Logan; great-grandson: Johnny, Jr.; sibling, Toney (Anna) Sinclair; niece, Rhonda (Sherman) Argo; nephew, Randy (Lisa) Sinclair; grandnieces and grandnephews: Christopher, Brandon, Amber, Kayla; great-grandniece, Gabby; stepson, William Hough, and by his mother-in-law, Sharon Midyett. He is also survived by numerous cousins including: Jerry and Jim Bryant, whom were like brothers to him. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Aileen Taylor and uncle and aunt Loren and Wanda Bryant.
