Bernice Jane Piedmonte, "A Child of God," died Friday afternoon, January 6, 2023, at home in Show Low, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Bernice was born on Tuesday, February 22, 1938, in the town of Murray, Village of Holley, Orleans County, New York to her parents, the late Frank Samuel and Carmela (Simboli) Piedmonte.
In 1956, Bernice married Lester Ray Weaver in the Holley Assembly of God in Holley, New York. The following spring, in 1957, their son, Terence "Terry" was born. Four years later, their second son, Kevin was born in the spring of 1961, completing their little family. While the boys were teenagers, Bernice and Lester ended their 17 year marriage.
Throughout her life, Bernice found secretarial work at a few car dealerships, including: Duryea Ford in Holley, NY and Ralph Dellinger Pontiac in Brockport, NY. She later worked for Richard Harris whom opened a small used-car dealership and gas station. Bernice worked as his "right-hand" gal as his secretary and bookkeeper. Their friendship developed and soon turned into true love and, in the mid-1970s, Richard and Bernice were wed. Their marriage had lasted nearly 35 years when Richard died in 2011. Their years together were happy ones and had moved to Florida where they lived for several years. While there, she worked as a crossing guard for the Henry County Sheriff's Department as well as Publix Grocery Store. Shortly after Richard's death, Bernice moved to Arizona to be near her sons and grandchildren making Show Low her home for the final years of her life. She was grateful that she was able to share in their many special family times together including holidays, picnics, birthday parties and church services.
Bernice Jane Piedmonte is survived by her 2 sons: Terry Weaver and Kevin (Tammy) Weaver both of Show Low, Arizona; 4 grandchildren: Michael (Cierra) Weaver, Daniel (Stacie) Weaver, Sarah Weaver, Japheth (Rose) Weaver; 15 great-grandchildren: Logan, Jaden, Ethan, Demario Tornado, Noah, Autumn, Paige, Ryker, Ella, Eli, Roxanne, Jaxon, Xylee, Trixie and Daxter with baby "A" on the way!
