Belinta Ivins

December 20, 1939 — December 5, 2018

Belinta Ivins died Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona from complications of pneumonia.  She was 78 years old.  Belinta was born on a Wednesday, December 20, 1939, in Cedar Creek, Arizona to her parents, the late Deming and Elizabeth (Paxson) Clawson.

Belinta married her forever sweetheart, Francis "Chuck" Ivins, Jr. in September of 1961 in Whiteriver, Arizona.  They most recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.  Throughout her long life, Belinta was the best wife, mother and grandmother to her family.  She was a loving sister and looked forward to her daily phone calls with her sisters.  She was the biggest of fans when it came to the Alchesay High School Falcons.  She loved those Falcons so much that she and her sisters would regularly get in line at 4:00 A.M. to buy their game tickets!  Her entire family will miss her daily phone calls.  She always looked forward to her family's updates with the latest news.  Belinta was a woman who enjoyed a good car ride.  Even if it was just down the street she loved to be driven everywhere by anyone!  It's been said of Belinta that "she was the boss of everybody and that it was her way or no way."  It needs to be shared that her daughters where smiling when they shared this tidbit about her.  Belinta had an incredible sense of humor and loved a good joke.  Of course, she knew all of the good ones and always got a laugh.

Belinta Ivins is survived by her husband, Francis "Chuck" Ivins of Whiteriver, Arizona; 4 children:  Carmen Turquoise of Whiteriver, Arizona, Delinda Ivins of Whiteriver, Arizona, Frankie (Dorinda) Ivins of McNary, Arizona, Kirbeleen Ivins of Whiteriver, Arizona; 3 siblings:  Jennie (Nathaniel) Massey of Whiteriver, Arizona, Kanzie (Bernita) Clawson of Fort Apache (Six-Pack), Arizona, Lula James of Cedar Creek, Arizona; 8 grandchildren:  Kailaynei Johnson (who was her sidekick), Shadow Goseyun, Monique Townsend, Tiffany Turquoise, Tracy Turquoise, Cortney Peaches, DeeAnn Ivins, Franky Ivins, ; 15 great-grandchildren; an uncle, Tim Clawson; 3 god-daughters:  Elva Walker, Kaliegh Cosay and Misty Harvey.  She also leaves behind her house cat, "Baby" and her outdoor dog, "Odie." Along with her parents, Belinta was preceded in death by a son, Kirby Chip Ivins; 5 siblings:  Roger Clawson, Donner Clawson, Curry  Clawson, Mary Cromwell, Juana Kane, a grandson, William "Boy" Hawkins, Jr. and was also preceded in death by the boyfriend of a granddaughter, Jimmy Tate.

Belinta will be brought back to Whiteriver, Arizona where family and friends are warmly invited to gather and remember a beautiful life lived.  The two-day wake will begin 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Ivins Family home, 6 South 1st Avenue in Whiteriver, Arizona.  The funeral service will begin 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Whiteriver Assembly of God, 701 S. Chief Avenue in Whiteriver, Arizona where Reverend Marty Paxson will officiate.  The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the R-14 Crossing Cemetery in Cedar Creek, Arizona.

The Ivins Family is thankful for all of the expressions of sympathy they have received during this difficult time and are especially grateful for all of the prayers offered up on their behalf.
