Barbara Lynne Shumway

Barbara Lynne Shumway passed away peacefully late Saturday night, November 17, 2018, at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona from complications of diabetes.  She was 70 years old.  Barbara was born on a Monday, February 9, 1948, in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona to her parents, the late Clifford Allen and Violet Mae (Whipple) Frost. 

She married the love of her life, Lester Dean Shumway, July 30, 1966 in the Mesa LDS Temple; they were married for 52 years. She served in numerous church callings, including Young Womens and Primary. Barbara had a very strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and of her Savior, Jesus Christ and she loved to share this testimony with her children and grand children.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Lester Dean Shumway of Snowflake, Arizona; 10 children:  Marcy (Steven) Knudsen of Mesa, Arizona, Les Shumway of Taylor, Arizona, Daphne (Aaron) Hudson of Snowflake, Arizona, Kent (Karla) Shumway of Mesa, Arizona, Walt (Emily) Shumway of South Jordan, Utah, Bob (Louise) Shumway of Glenrothes, Scotland, Mae (Rafael) Ramirez of Gilbert, Arizona, Toni (Jared) Ghormley of Holbrook, Arizona, Liz Shumway of Powell, Wyoming, Chuck (Nohemi) Shumway of Mesa, Arizona. They also have 37 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 2 sisters: Pat (David) Renner and Dora Edwards Frost. 5 half brothers: Allen Frost, Barry Frost, Terry Frost, Bradley Frost and Dennis Frost. She was preceded in death by a brother: Clifford "Hoopie" Frost.

The funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, 2018, at the Centennial Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 175 W. 9th South Street in Snowflake, Arizona where the public visitation and view will begin 2 hours prior.  The concluding service and interment will be later that afternoon beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the Woodruff Cemetery in Woodruff, Arizona.
