Annie Padilla Castillo, age 86, passed away Saturday evening with her family by her side at her home in Lakeside, Arizona. She was born on November 2, 1935 in Los Chavez, New Mexico to Adelaido & Aurora Serna Padilla. Annie had two older brothers and two younger sisters. She was born and raised attending school in New Mexico until the 8th grade when her family began a new adventure moving to McNary, Arizona in 1948.
Annie always loved living on the family farm, she loved reading and being around family and friends and it was said that she “Loved People.”
Annie met Julian during their High School years, locking pinkies one afternoon after a football game and have since been together for 67 wonderful years. Together, they have 4 children, JuliAnn (Bill) Hilton, Tobias “Toby” (Sarah) Castillo, Veronica (Leobardo) Castillo, Mary (Benjamin) Castillo, as well as one grandson, Toby Alex Castillo.
Annie worked as a Court Interpreter for the County and taught ESL at Blue Ridge High School. She was a loving and compassionate person who always saw only the good in people and would give the best advice.
Annie is preceded in death by her son Toby.
There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, Arizona. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 A.M. Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Mary of The Angels, 1915 S. Penrod Lane, Pinetop, Arizona with the Memorial Mass beginning at 10:00. Following the Mass, Annie will be inurned at the Angels Rest Columbarium.
