Alice B. Howard of Lakeside, Arizona passed away peacefully on December 6, 2021. She was born on February 21, 1937 in Winslow, Arizona to Winston and Lenora (Loftin) Matthews. She was their first child and only daughter.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Sheilah Folsom and her partner Sam Elben, and Candy Howard. She’s also survived by brothers, Winston Matthews and wife Dawn; Ronnie Mathews and wife Louise; Robert Matthews and Bert; sister, Tina Aikens and husband Forest. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis; brother, Gene and an infant brother Winston Gene, as well.
Alice had a career in retail but her main occupation was being a homemaker. She raised her three children as well as caring for numerous foster children.
Alice had a strong faith. She attended church at Blue Ridge Christian Center and Cornerstone Community Church. In her lifetime she survived many battles, with her strong personality seeing her through. Her children and family loved her deeply.
One of the things Alice asked for prior to passing away was a cup of coffee. We know she’d appreciate it if the next time you have a cup raise it in memory of Alice. If she were joining you she’d enjoy hers with cream and sugar
