Allen Janke

January 17, 1958 — March 16, 2024

Allen H. Janke, 66, passed away peacefully in his home in White Mountain Lakes, Arizona after a brief illness, on March 16, 2024. He was born in Tucson, Arizona on January 17, 1958.

Allen and his parents lived in Minnesota up until his asthma forced them to move to Prescott, Arizona, on Halloween of 1966, when Allen was 8 years old. After arriving in Prescott they felt like they were home. Allen attended Sacred Heart Academy. After graduating 8th grade, he attended Prescott Junior High for 9th grade and then went to Prescott High School and was in the Class of 1976. He was an Alter Boy at Sacred Heart Church. In his teenage years he worked at several different jobs. Some of the places he worked was Whataburger, Burger Queen, The bottle plant (where they made the honey bear bottles), Prescott Tire, and Firestone. He was in Boy Scouts, where he hiked the Grand Canyon twice. Allen was a gear head, he loved the Mustang. He owned a 1966 Mustang that he put a lot of time in and enjoyed driving. It was Emer Aude (Sparkling Emerald Green).

Allen worked at Salt River Project in Page, Arizona and Coronado Generating (SRP) in St. Johns, Arizona from November 1981 to August 1995. He also was self employed doing set-ups, tear downs and relevels of Manufactured Homes, did remodeling, and built decks and roofs.

Allen started playing guitar when he was 8 years old. His first lessons were with his Dad, and from there it was all by ear and other guitar players. He would play guitar for Youth Mass at Sacred Heart Church, family gatherings and camping trips. He would go on to play guitar for 58 more years. He was in several bands. Some of the bands were Prescott People, such as Bob Cox, Arnold Cox (drums), and Rod Hart. He also played with people in the White Mountains such as Gearhart Steffen (Jane Powell's son), and Monty Carlson. Allen and Geary together wrote White Mountains Arizona.

Throughout his life Allen enjoyed a lot of activities. He loved Racing in Mud Bogs, playing music, water skiing and camping at Lyman Lake and Roosevelt Lake, and hanging out with his family. His family would take vacations, weekend getaways, and drives to different places. We took several trips to Yellowstone National Park, Minnesota to see family, wood cutting out in the woods in the Prescott area, Oregon, California, camping and fishing trips, and hanging out with his little sister.

Allen leaves behind his mother Fran; Sister, Michelle (Ira) Trevillyan both of Concho, AZ.; his sons, Trevar of Huachuca City, Arizona, and Colton of Thatcher, Arizona; his companion/wife of over 20 years, Brigitta Balint of Show Low, Arizona; nieces, Jamie (Jim) Leffler, Nikelle (Joey) Giffin both of Taylor, Arizona, Ashlee Trevillyan of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Lawran Trevillyan of Concho, Arizona; nephew, Clinton Trevillyan of Concho, Arizona; great-niece: Danika Giffin; great-nephews, Devon Giffin and Alexzander Peary/Leffler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
