Miles Cornell Stewart Cavey was born on October 28, 1985, in Nurnberg, Bavaria, Germany, to Charles Gilbert III and Sandra Lee Cavey. He was the fifth of six children and the youngest of four sons. Miles moved backed to the United States with his family as an infant and lived throughout Arizona before settling in the beautiful White Mountains at the age of 11. Miles spent his Junior High and High School years actively involved in wrestling and football at Blue Ridge, graduating with the class of 2003. Miles received training as a land surveyor after high school and it was in this capacity as a self-proclaimed “Billy goat,” traversing the terrain of our beautiful state, that he was the proudest of his work. His true joy came in raising his son, Hunter. The two were best friends in every definition of the word, each cut from the same cloth. To outsiders, Miles’ outward appearance and demeanor may have appeared like that of the Hulk, but to those that knew him best, he was a kind man that would gladly give the shirt of his back to help a friend in need, yet keeping his “Hulk” ready to do battle if the need arose. Miles Cornell Stewart Cavey passed away on February 8, 2018, in Show Low, AZ. He is survived by his son, Hunter Bradley Cavey (9); mother, Sandra Stewart; fiancée, Kristen Lipscomb; brother, Derrick (Jolyn) Cavey; sisters, Rachel (Jennifer) Cavey and Hannaleigh Cavey; paternal grandmother, Catherine Cavey-Englehardt; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Caroly Stewart, and six nieces and nephews. Miles was preceded in death by his brothers, Joshua Stewart Cavey and Shane Teagan Stewart Cavey; father, Charles Gilbert Cavey III and paternal grandfather, Charles Gilbert Cavey Jr. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane, Lakeside.
