Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Wallace Batt Adams died Friday, January 19, 2018, at his home in Lakeside, Arizona. He was 96 years old. Wallace was born March 22, 1921, in Logan, Utah. He was the third child of four children born to Ruby Batt and James Izatt Adams. Wallace was a faithful life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Wallace served, faithfully, in many organizations of the church, including: the Bishopric and High Council. He also served in the Mesa Arizona Temple. His most enjoyable calling was conducting choirs, which he did for most of his life. Wallace graduated with his Master’s Degree from Columbia University and was well known for his musical talents including: choir directing, (church and community), lead roles in operas, and vocal training. He taught music at both the college and high school levels. He retired as an elementary school teacher in 1984. Wallace was a gifted carpenter, avid gardener, and a talented artist. Wallace was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, and his wife of 69 years, Helen Durrant Adams. He is survived by six children: Lane (Annette) Adams; Trish (Rance) Pullin; Kathy (Gary) Allen; Randy (Shelly) Adams; Jennifer (Larry) Jones; Rebecca (Kevin) Petersen; 32 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The public viewing, visitation and friends' calling will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the Lindsay Pueblo Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 920 S. Lindsay Road in Mesa, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Lindsay Pueblo Chapel where additional visitation will begin 1 hour prior. The concluding service and interment will begin 12:30 P.M. at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street in Mesa, Arizona.
