Myrtle Marie Hatch Reidhead was born on August 30, 1930 in Taylor, Arizona to Jack Hatch and Julia Wakefield Hatch. She was the 9th of 10 children. Myrt adored her siblings, and doted on her baby brother Gary. She grew up in Taylor, and enjoyed playing baseball, swimming in the creek and playing and working alongside her family. As a teenager Myrt was the first Taylor Cucumber Queen. Myrt married Charles “Tadd” Reidhead in Globe, Arizona on February 26, 1952. They enjoyed 44 happy years of marriage before Tadd passed away from cancer. Together they had 4 children; Ava, Roy, Jeff and Lori. Family was the center of their world, and they centered their lives around their children, and grandchildren. They resided in Tempe, Taylor and Burton, Arizona. In 1982 Tadd got a wild hair, and persuaded Myrt to move to Soper, Oklahoma. They bought a lovely ranch, and retired there. Myrt loved ranch life, and enjoyed that time of her life. During this time she worked as a cook at the Soper School cafeteria, and was known and loved by many. Myrt was a beautiful homemaker, cook, and served others endlessly. She prided herself in keeping an immaculate home, and in putting beautiful meals on the table for family, and friends. She is famous for her homemade bread, pies and made from scratch meals. She won many blue ribbons for her baked, and canned goods at the county fair. She enjoyed being a member of the Homemaker’s Extension Club for many years while living in Oklahoma. Myrt was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous calling, presidencies, and served with her whole heart. Her favorite callings were working with the primary children, and the two years she served as a temple worker in the LDS Dallas, Texas temple. The last 20 years of her life Myrt split her time between Oklahoma, and Arizona. She loved visiting with family, and friends. The last year of her life she declined, and came back to Arizona to live. Myrt departed this earthly life on January 7, 2018, a few days after suffering from a stroke. She will be sorely missed by her family, and friends. Myrt was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tadd Reidhead; her parents, Jack and Julia Hatch; and by all 9 of her siblings (Peggy Bullard Larson, Kirk “Trapper” Hatch, Guy Hatch, Hal Hatch, Fay Hatch, Boyd Hatch, Max Hatch, Kathleen Hunt, and Gary Rand Hatch. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Joanne Hatch of Pinedale, Arizona; her children Ava (Kent) Hall of Taylor, Arizona, Roy Reidhead, Jeff (Diane) Reidhead, and Lori (Don) Carter all of Soper, Oklahoma; son-in-law Joe (Bonnie) Stradling of St. Johns, Arizona, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 84 E. 19 S., Snowflake, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, at the Centennial Stake Center, 9th S. 2nd West in Snowflake, at 10:00am, with a viewing 1 hour prior. Interment will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, AZ.
