Jean Butler

March 19, 1950 — December 27, 2017

Jean Lancaster Butler, 67, returned home to her Heavenly Father with her husband by her side, in Mesa, Arizona on the evening of December 27, 2017.  She was born in Snowflake, Arizona on Sunday, March 19, 1950 to Ralph and Venola Lancaster.  She was the youngest in her family, with her brother being the oldest, and her being five minutes younger than her twin sister Joan.Jean was raised and attended all her schooling in Snowflake, where she loved growing up.  While attending High School, she met and fell in love with Dave Butler.  They were both nominated as the "best personality" their senior year.  After graduation, Jean attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake.  Her education abruptly ended in November of her first year because her and Dave decided to get married in the Mesa Arizona Temple.  Jean worked at Motorola while Dave pursued his teaching degree.  Their marriage was blessed with five children.  They lived in Show Low most of their married life until Jeans health declined, and they had to move to Mesa, Arizona.  She was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many callings with her favorite being the Primary Pianist.  She has always loved playing the piano as her home was always filled with music.  She enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker.  She has many friends and loved her home in Show Low, and missed it when she had to leave.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Venola, her twin sister Joan, and her grandson Austin.Jean is survived by her husband, David; five children, Jared (Rachelle), Willie (Nicole), Ben (Keilah), Kirstyn (Blake) Lyndsie (Jeffrey); 13 grandchildren.A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, AZ.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M.  Saturday, January 6, 2018 with a viewing one hour prior at the Show Low Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 300 N. 11th Street, Show Low with Concluding Services and Interment at the Show Low Cemetery.
