Johnathan Patrick Hinton, of Whiteriver, Arizona passed away on December 26, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 34. Johnathan was born on November 23, 1983 in Whiteriver to the late Nathaniel Hinton, Sr. and Sandra (Grant) Hinton. Johnathan was affectionately known as Pete by his many family members and friends. He was very traditional in his Apache beliefs. He enjoyed taking long drives while being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved being by a quiet stream or lake. Pete worked in construction for various companies throughout his life. He was a “jokester” and was always laughing. He enjoyed being with his family and checking in on and taking care of his grandparents. He is survived by his companion, Susan Declay; sons, Nathan and Ethan Hinton; grandmothers, Katherine Grant and Cora Lee Fall; grandparents, Bert and Joanna Hinton, Sr.; sister, Nicole Hinton; brother, Nathaniel Hinton, Jr.; God-children, Sandie Gordon, Jaylen Young, Easton Reed and Aja Cromwell; God-parents, Leonard and Hattie Fall as well as many extended family members and friends. A one night wake will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2108 at the home of his grandmother, 2406 S. Malone Street, Ft. Apache, Arizona. A Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the East Fork Lutheran Church with the interment to follow in the Canyon Day Cemetery in Canyon Day, Arizona.
