Alexander Hiram Foree

August 14, 1995 — December 1, 2017

It is with sad hearts that the Mark and Wendy Foree family announces the passing of our beloved son and brother, Alexander Hiram Foree (22). He passed peacefully December 1, 2017 at the Scottsdale Osborn Hospital due to his long battle with the effects of being shot July 7, 2017. The shot had made him quadriplegic and ventilator dependent. He is now free of that trying experience and is being welcomed to the rest of paradise by his grandparents, Jack and Luella Foree, and Albert and Helen Bottema, and by many other family and friends. Alex was born in Phoenix August 14, 1995 and adopted and sealed with our family forever at about one year of age. He was our youngest and was a joy to raise. He had boundless ability to love and was a courageous young man. Alex was naturally friendly and developed close relationships easily. He will be missed by hundreds, and especially by his Mom and Dad and brothers and sisters. We remember fondly that Alex had a wonderful sense of humor and was the center of family activity and jokes. He was compassionate and caring, and loved giving service to others. Alex more than once gave everything he had to a homeless person that he had seen on the street. Alex was a believer in God and in Jesus Christ specifically believing in and practicing doing good to others. He was raised in Joseph City until 2005 and then in Snowflake and graduated Snowflake High School in 2014. In high school he was a wrestler reaching the state quarterfinals his senior year, losing his quarter final match to a referee mistake and we have the video to prove it… Ha ha… He would want me to say that…. He also played football and started as linebacker and defensive end. Even on his hospital bed during this past football season, he would ask how the Lobos were doing and expected updates weekly. Alex was a loyal Lebron James fan and would often joke as a youth that he would be an NBA star like Lebron. Alex was active in church and scouting activities throughout his youth. He was advanced in the Aaronic Priesthood to the office of Priest in the LDS church. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America for a long time and was an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow. Alex’s second home growing up was his yearly camp at Camp Geronimo outside Payson, AZ. He enjoyed those and many other camps with the boys of Troop 706. He loved and reveled in joking and laughing around the campfire. He was one of the heroes of that troop, and loved being part of any pine cone wars or other adventures the boys could dream up. Alex loved his niece and nephews, brothers and sisters, and Mom and Dad. There were times that tried our endurance, but Alex loved and was loved greatly. Many tears have been shed over the last months since the shooting. Funeral Celebration of Alex’s life is Saturday December 9, 2017 at the Main Street LDS Chapel at 48 N Main Street, Snowflake. Viewing is at 9:00 am with Funeral at 10:00 am, then burial and the Joseph City Cemetery at approximately 12:45 pm.
