Mamie Avalene Freeland Davis, 82, died November 28, 2017, in the home of her daughter, Karen McLemore. Her funeral services were held December 2, 2017 at the Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Holbrook, Arizona at 11:00 am, followed by an internment at the Holbrook Cemetery. Mamie was born October 28, 1935 to Edna and Stanley Freeland in Wheeler, Texas. Her family moved several times but she lived in Holbrook the majority of her life. She married Lewis William Davis October 6, 1951 in Gallup, New Mexico. Mamie & Lewis loved Holbrook and made many dear and lasting friendships there. Lewis worked in many automotive shops but finally opened his own shop next to the old post office. They had two daughters: Beverly J. Morris & Karen S. McLemore. Mamie was preceded in death by her sweetheart Lewis, her mother, Edna and father Stanley, two brothers: Stanley & Melvin Freeland and two great grandchildren: Cameron and Brianna Pullin. Mamie loved her family very much and was a friend to all she met. She loved serving others and had a deep testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. She served faithfully in her church. She will be dearly missed but now she is at peace with all those who have passed on before her.
