Jess Michael Smith, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 33. Jess was born on April 22, 1984 in Whiteriver, Arizona to Fernando Smith and Sylvia Browning. A talented and self-taught musician, artist and skateboarder Jess loved life. He had many friends and enjoyed being with them all. He traveled and seen many places throughout Arizona and the United States. He participated in a documentary of Geronimo where he played an Apache Scout. He was a confirmed member of the Open Bible Lutheran Church in Whiteriver where he attended church regularly. He attended the Mission School in Cibecue until the 2nd grade. He then attended school in Whiteriver having graduated from Alchesay High School in 2002. He enjoyed music and was a fan of the bands Kings of Leon and the Strokes. Jess was very loved by all his family and his friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his children, Tanner Stormy Smith, Ollie Wish Smith and Chelsea Smith; mother, Sylvia Browning; father, Fernando Smith and 5 sisters and 1 brother as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linelle Susan. Funeral services will be held 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Open Bible Lutheran Church in Whiteriver. Interment will follow in the Sunny Side Cemetery in Cibecue, Arizona.
