Janice Elaine Robart Lash passed away October 23, 2017, at her home in Lakeside, AZ, in the presence of loved ones; she was 78 years old. Janice was born to the late Russell and Mildred Robart on October 13, 1939 in LaOtto, Indiana and was the youngest of four children. She spent her early years on a farm with her family in Ege, Indiana and then shortly moved to Avilla, Indiana for her school years. In grade school she helped out with the family diner. In high school, Janice was a baton twirler in the marching band and a cheerleader. In her spare time she worked at the local high school hangout, a drugstore and soda fountain shop. She graduated from Avilla High School in 1957. During her senior year she met Jerry Lash and they quickly fell in love and married in November of that year. They welcomed their first son, Stanley, in July of 1958 and moved to Lakeside, AZ. In March of 1960 they built their first home in Moonridge Estates. In December of 1962 Janice and Jerry were blessed with their second son, Craig. She then decided to stay home to care for the boys and be a homemaker. She returned to work in the mid 1960's, to manage the office and bookkeeping work for the family business, Lash Construction, with Jerry.She was an avid sports fan and always supported the boys in all of their sports. In the late 1960's, she helped establish and operate the first concession stand for the Pinetop-Lakeside Little League. In 1981, Craig's senior year, Janice sponsored and mentored the Blue Ridge High School cheerleading squad. Janice spent her life supporting her family and her community. She loved camping, traveling and watching sports.She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Lakeside; sons, Stan, of White Mountain Lake, AZ & Craig, of Salem, Or; grandsons, Zachary & Troy Lash; brother, Max Robart; sister, Doris Smurr; and her adopted family, Tony & Olivia of Holbrook.A private service was held at the Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Owens Livingston Mortuary.In lieu of sending flowers to the family, Jerry Lash requests you consider donating to Hospice Compassus, 1789 Commerce Drive, Lakeside, AZ 85929.
