Charlayne Whipple, beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017 in Chandler, AZ, surrounded by her family.She was born on November 3, 1939, to Clarence & Gwen Penrod, in their home by Rainbow Lake, in Lakeside, AZ.She lived in Lakeside until 1990, when she moved to Phoenix, AZ to help her husband run Whipple Trucking. She was an avid bowler, loved crocheting for her kids and grandbabies, loved working in her yard and loved to listen to her music and dance. When she retired, she loved spending time with her family & friends.She is survived by her 6 children; Steven Cook (Debbie), Tamara Sands, Kimberly Cook, Marci Shields, Wendy Whipple (John), & Lanie Curbello (Shawn); 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; her brother, Lance Penrod (Phyllis), and lots of nieces & nephews. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.There will be a viewing at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 320 N. 9th St., Showlow, AZ, on Friday November 3, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at the same location. A funeral service will immediately follow. Concluding services will be held for family at the Pinetop Cemetery where she will be laid to rest, next to the love of her life, Gary Cook.
