David Buck Hensley, passed away peacefully at home, on October 15, 2017 in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. He was 69. Buck was born on May 6, 1948, the 3rd of 12 children, to Charles Buck and Dorothy Mae (McCall) Hensley in Roswell, New Mexico. On March 1, 1968 Buck joined the United States Marine Corp. He received his High School Diploma while enlisted. He served seven tours in Vietnam between 1969 & 1970. Buck received numerous medals, badges and devices while serving. On February 29, 1972 he was Honorably Discharged.He married the love of his life Carol "Darlene" Petty on July 12, 1968.After being discharged, Buck went to work in the construction industry, a trait he learned from his father & one that has been passed on to his own children and grandchildren. Buck and Darlene started their own construction company, "Viking Construction", in 1996. You can seen their work as you drive down main street at night and see the decorative street lights. In 2006 they retired from their company, handing it over to their children to continue the family business.Buck was a proud but humble man. Proud of all that he and his family have achieved throughout the years, but humble enough to know you have to work hard for what you want.Buck is survived by his son, David "Buck" (Leslie) Hensley and their children, Wyatt, Jeremy and Dallin Hensley; his daughter, Tisha (Chad) Feemster and their children, Kylee and Ayden Feemster; his step-mother; 5 brothers; 3 sisters and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; as well as many kids who grew up at his place that he considered his very own children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered at "Papa Buck". He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Darlene Hensley; his parents; 2 brothers; 1 sister; 2 grandchildren; 1 niece; 1 nephew.Memorial Services will he held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 48 N. Main St., in Snowflake, Arizona.
