Elva Marie Kuykendall of Pinetop, Arizona peacefully passed away with her loving family at her side on September 16, 2017. She was 99 years old. Elva was born to the late James A. and Mary Hannah (Robinson) Parks on July 10, 1918 in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania. Elva loved flowers and birdwatching. She was an accomplished baker who was presented a Golden Award for her outstanding bread at the Arizona State Fair by the Governor. She had many articles published throughout the state recognizing her for her award winning recipes. She was a longtime resident of Pinetop and will be deeply missed by all whom she loved and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Gaynelle Callaway (Benny Ned) of Cross Plains, Texas; grandchildren, Debra Chilton of Early, Texas and Karen Morales (Manny) of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren, Hannah Horton, Kathleen Horton, Joel Vaughn (Heather), Tiffany Forns (Brian), Krystal Otto (T.J.) and Derik Morales; great-great-grandchildren, Kaston O’Dell, Payton, Haylen and Brooklyn Vaughn, Jordan and Lacy Forns, Trey and Kingsley Otto and Mila Morales and a dear friend whom she considered her son, Jared Udall. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kuykendall and a son, James Bruce Ramsay. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Aspen Ward Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, PO Box 3188, Pinetop, Arizona 85935 in Elva’s name. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeside, Arizona.
