Janelle Rhea Lavender died Monday afternoon, September 11, 2017 at Haven of Show Low following a lengthy illness. She was 28 years old. Janelle was born a Tuesday, May 2, 1989, in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona to her mother, Janet Marie Crocker and to her father, William Nellis Lavender. Know as "Nelly" to her family and friends, she was not one to squander her time. Besides being a homemaker to her little family, she became a mother in March of 2005 when her daughter, Breanna Marie Lavender was born. She loved going places with her and took her everywhere. In October of 2012, Nelly gave birth to another baby girl and entrusted the upbringing of that sweet baby to her Aunt Cheri and partner, Marci to rear. Nelly was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing and sketching. Many of her creations are now considered priceless treasures to her family. She spent countless hours scrapbooking and had created many, many scrapbooks over the years. The books she made were beautiful reminders of the beautiful people in her life. Nelly enjoyed to fish and any fishing hole was her favorite fishing hole. In her spare time, Nelly always had a good puzzle to put together. She was excellent at assembling puzzles.As she was so much fun to be around, Nelly will dearly be missed by her family and friends.She is survived by her daughters: Breanna Marie Lavender, Erica Marie Jimson; mother, Janet Marie Crocker; father, William Nellis Lavender; sister, Jada Vargas; 3 brothers: Joshua Paul Crocker, Richardson Lavender, Juaquin Lavender; 2 nephews: Jovon Smith, Gilbert Smith; grandfathers: Ernie Crocker and Elliot Mason. She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles. Nelly is preceded in death by her grandmothers: Dorinda Crocker, Maybelline Mason and by a sister, Chandra Lavender, who just passed away in February of this year.The public visitation and viewing will be from 12 Noon to 7:00 P.M., Monday, September 18, 2017, at the Fort Apache Branch Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 107 E. Walker in Fort Apache, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Fort Apache Branch Chapel. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Crocker Family Plot.
