Marilyn Lucille Mains, of Wellton, Arizona passed away on September 3, 2017at the age of 94. She was born to the late Randolph and Janet (Farmer) McElhaney of Cashion, Arizona, and was the last surviving child of six children. Marilyn was a Pioneer of the Wellton Mohawk Valley. She graduated from grade school in Wellton in a class of only two children and continued on to graduate from Yuma High School in 1940. In June of 1941, Marilyn met and married the love of her life, James H. Romine, at the Lute’s Wedding Chapel in Yuma. They enjoyed many wonderful years together until his death in 1958. In October of 1966, she married C.J. Mains at her brother’s home in Wellton. They were happily married until his death in May of 1980. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #6790 in Wellton where she served as President, and was also President of the District 1 Auxiliary. Marilyn was also an active member of the Red Hat Society in Show Low, Arizona. In addition, while her children were in grade school, she was also very active in the 4-H and Blue Birds. Marilyn loved camping, off-roading, hunting, and fishing with her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Randell “Del” (Sharon) Romine of Linden, Arizona, Donna (John) Clarke of Yuma, Arizona, James Larry (Susan) Romine of Wellton, Arizona and Karen Winder of Fallon, Nevada. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Bob and Jim McElhaney, her sisters, Betty Hughes and Mildred Snider, as well as a great-grandson, Victor Roberts.
