Vera Louise Davis

June 14, 1940 — August 27, 2017

Vera Louise Simpson Davis passed away on August 27, 2017. She was born on June 14, 1940 in Snowflake, AZ to her parents,  Louie and Opal Simpson. Vera was a stranger to no one and was loved and blessed by all who encountered her.   She lived in Burton, AZ until she married the light of her life Marvin Davis on April 11, 1957. Her life was dedicated to this man and never wavered in her love and support of him and his many adventures.Vera’s greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by her family and friends.  Her life was exciting and eventful, fueled by her boundless energy and love.  Her early years kept her traveling around Arizona with their two daughters as they ranched and logged, gathering friends and making memories.  In 1989 they moved to the Pie Town Ranch and here many wondrous, happy years were spent with the grandkids and their precious families and the many, many friends and family members that made the ranch so special.  Vera’s greatest joy was seeing the spring calves appear on the ranch.  Her hands were never idle and she particularly enjoyed crafting.  It pleased her so to share her beautiful finished handwork with those she loved.  She had a salt and pepper shaker collection that had no rival and that was her pride and joy.  It gave her such a thrill to share her collection with visitors. After the passing of Marvin, Vera moved full time to Fort Thomas, AZ where her life was enriched by her beautiful Church family.  She passed away sleeping peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on a beautiful Sunday morning.  Appropriate for this outstanding gentle soul, that loved without judging, made everyone feel like they were so very special and lived her faith every day. Survivors are her daughters, Cherell Cooper (Don Cooper) & Marva Riccitelli (Danny Riccitelli); Grandchildren Shaun Cooper (Usha Bhakta-Cooper), and Amanda Laick (Matthew Laick); Great Grandchildren Suraj and Sabrina Bhakta, & Lily and Matthew Laick; adopted great-grandchildren:  Jessica, Sarah, Nathan & Caleb Murphy, Grace, Benjamin, Isaiah Lucatorta and Adam, Janee and Micah Herwaldt;  sister, Velta Swindle (Bill Swindle); brother, Gene Simpson; and sister in-law Marie Jennings. Services will be Saturday September 2nd at the Burton Baptist Church, Burton AZ at 11:00 A.M. Viewing is from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  Potluck to follow.
