Herbert Hoover Hemmings, age 89, was born August 13, 1928, in Monongahela, Washington County, Pennsylvania and went on to his eternal reward on August 26, 2017, in Mesa, Arizona. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Minister, Neighbor and Friend. He was the fourth of sixteen children born to John William Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Herrington) Hemmings. He worked for Combustion Engineering, Johnson's Construction and Zeffiro Transfer & Storage, prior to moving to Arizona. Once here, he worked construction and maintenance for John Marble, Frank Garcia Enterprises and Navopache Roofing, where he would retire. He was a Minister for The Church of Jesus Christ in Lakeside where he served faithfully. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid walker, and liked playing Scrabble, Tri-Ominos, Uno and softball, where he usually was the designated pitcher. He was married to Shirley Ann Seighman Hemmings for 68 years. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann; brothers: Harold "Boots" (Delores) Hemmings, Howard "Leroy" Hemmings, George "Hambone" (Mary Rose) Hemmings, Robbie (Sandra) Hemmings; sisters: Mary "Peggy" Pohts, Alice Ingram, Ruth (John) McDougall, Carol (Floyd) Lee, Donna (John) Pocky; sisters-in-law, Patricia "Pat" Louise Hemmings, Patricia Anne "Patty" Hemmings, Angela "Ange" Hemmings; children: David (Auriah Blackmountain), Bonny (Art) Landrey, Randy (Donna) Hemmings, Kim (Nancy) Hemmings, Timothy (Paula) Hemmings, Sam (Lisa) Hemmings, Shawn (Sonya) Hemmings, Faith (Richard) Mathews; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.In the few days since Herbert's passing, he has been followed in death by his son, Sam Hemmings and by his sister-in-law Sandra Hemmings. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John Jr, Thomas "Dave" (Zelma) Hemmings, Donald "Donnie" Hemmings, Paul Hemmings, Richard "Skip" Hemmings; sister, Shirley May (Herbert) Seighman; brothers-in-law: William (Bill) Pohts, Charles Ingram; a granddaughter, Heidi Lynn Hemmings and by a grandson, Jeffrey David Hemmings. The public visitation and friends calling will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 8, 2017, at the mortuary, where additional visitation will begin one hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Lakeside Cemetery. Following the committal service at the cemetery, family and friends are warmly invited to gather for desserts and fellowship at the cultural hall of the Pinetop/Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane in Lakeside, Arizona.Memorial contributions, in Herbert Hemming's name, to either: The Salvation Army, P.O.
