Elvis Altaha, Sr. of Canyon Day, Arizona passed away on August 11, 2017 in Whiteriver, Arizona. He was 59. Elvis was born on October 27, 1957 in Whiteriver to Frank and Serena (Cosay) Altaha. Elvis was a veteran of the United States Army and was proud of his service to his country. An avid outdoorsman he loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Wiener Roast Crew that would get together to pitch horseshoes. He loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking for the many family outings and get-togethers. He was a very humble and kind man. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marian Altaha of Canyon Day; daughters, Marissa, Elmaria and Arainna Altaha of Canyon Day; sons, Darrias Altaha and Darrick Truax of Canyon Day; grandchildren whom affectionately called him “Papa”, Ateya Zoey Anderson of Belefonte, Pennsylvania and Imania Dahkoshay of Whiteriver; mother, Serena Altaha; sisters, Patsy (Bill) Cohoe, Darlene (Steven) Wapaha, Arlene (Herbert) Tate, Marna Altaha, Jackie (Dino) Manuel, Cindy Altaha, Janice “JB” Altaha; brother, Darrell Altaha; uncle, Carley Cosay, Sr.; aunts, Fannie Bread, Vivian Williams, Isabelle Cosay, Lucille Moody, Victoria Anderson, June Quintero; God-sisters, Argenita Sanchez, Vanchelle Bahlen, Shania Tate and Jonie Henry. Preceded in death by his father, Frank Altaha; sons, Derreck, Darvin, Elvis Jr., Leesha Marie and Aaron Presley. A two night wake will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the family home in Canyon Day. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Canyon Day Miracle Church with interment to follow in the Canyon Day Cemetery.
