Eva Lupe, of East Fork, Az., 85, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2017, surrounded by her family at Show Low Summit Healthcare. She was born on August 7, 1931 in Whiteriver, Az. to the late Russell and Amy Cruz. Eva was the pillar of strength for her family. She was loved and adored by many family and friends. She always had encouraging words for the hindered in spirit and she had joyful laughter to share with those around her. Her home was open to many and the love she had to share was bountiful. In her earlier years Eva babysat for Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick and her siblings. She then worked at the East Fork Mission Nursery up until the final hours of the nursery. She then pursued her passion for being a caretaker for children and continued work with the White Mountain Apache Tribal Daycare. She worked there for several years and retired. Eva holds a reputable legacy in sewing some of the most beautiful traditional camp dresses. She was a devoted woman of God and attended Church regularly at the East Fork Lutheran Church. Eva's passion was being a caretaker for children, so naturally she raised her own along with many other relatives. She is survived by Patrick & Loretta Cruz, Antone Cruz & Caroline Dickey, Leo Cruz & Verina Browning, Annette Tenijieth, Everette Lupe, Gary & Berlita Lupe, Arlene & Burton Natan, Vallery Bead, Ruth Lupe, Ronnie Lupe, Minda Truesdell, Eddie & Elvina Lupe, Neysa Aquino, Reva Burnette, Jo Tenijieth, Daryl Tenijieth, Curtis & Vicki Suttle; 24 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 goddaughters, 1 godson and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Lupe Sr.; children, Jerry Lupe, Rececca Lupe, and Carmen Lupe; sisters, Vera Lupe, Fannie Cruz, Emma Nash, and Hilda Tessler; brothers, Sam Cruz, Roger Cruz, and Jimmy Cruz. Eva will be brought back to her home, 5408 Dove St. in East Fork, Az. on August 10th, 2017 for a 2 night wake. The funeral will be at the East Fork Lutheran Church on August 12, 2017 at 1 pm. Burial will be at the Dove St. Cemetery in East Fork, Az. Eva will be missed dearly by all that knew her. She has completed her journey. She has lived a full life. Her work is done and her heavenly home has embraced her. God's blessings.
