Matthew Thomas Wade

With heavy hearts we announce that Matthew Thomas Wade, of Casa Grande, AZ passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 4th, 2017.   Matt was born to Rusty and Susan Doody Wade on September 15th, 1981 in Willcox, Arizona. He grew up in Show Low, running around with his closest friends. He graduated from Show Low High School in 2000, and earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona. Spending most of his career working for the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System as a clinical pharmacist, Matt felt honored to help veterans and went beyond the call of duty to make them feel appreciated and cared for. He was beloved by his coworkers and colleagues and he adored them too.   A gentle and loving soul, Matt made sure that he kept his parents and siblings close to his heart. He lived for family and his greatest joy was bringing us all together for any reason.   Never having met a stranger in his life – Matt could talk to anyone anywhere and he certainly did so. His humor and innate charm won us all over. Matt treasured his friendships and would do absolutely anything for his friends.   Matt was gifted with creativity and passion. He was always making or building something -- from knives to hand-painted models, cars, bullets and most recently bonsai trees. He had a thirst for knowledge and he loved to share that knowledge. An avid outdoorsman, Matt loved nature and animals. Hunting was a huge part of his life and allowed him to share beautiful trips with his family and closest friends.   Matt is survived by his parents Rusty and Sue Wade, his two Great Dane children Bo and Luke, sisters Trisha and Brittany Wade, brothers Eric, Charles (Paula) and Noel (Johanna) Wade; nieces and nephews Alexis, Emma, McKenna and Collin Wade.   A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wade family home in Show Low on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 4pm. All who loved Matt are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please bring yourselves and a memory of Matt to share over a meal.   We will forever miss Matt’s kind, enthusiastic, and larger-than-life personality, and are eternally grateful to have had this bright light in our lives for 35 incredible years.
