Robert I. Genet was born September 16, 1926 in Orville, Ohio. He passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on June 4, 2017, at the home of his son in Show Low, AZ. He was preceded in death by his sweet daughter, Susan Dee (Genet) Johnson; sister, Doris Genet Strong (Chuck); and his sweetheart of 65 years, MaryEllen (Macomber) Genet. He is survived by his brother, Richard (Dick) Genet; daughter, Prudence Genet Pasquariello (Mike); daughter, Deborah Genet Dalke (Brian); son, Robert I Genet, Jr. (Julie), daughter Lori Genet Bauer (Brian); niece, Suzanne Armstrong; and nephew, Randy Strong; 14 grandchildren & 23 great grands. He joined the US Navy at the age of 17 during WWII and served his country honorably on the USS Barnett during the battle of Okinawa. After the Navy he went to work for HC Price Pipeline Co. and married the love of his life, Mary Ellen, and they traveled across 18 states from NY to CA. As his travels moved him from the East coast to the West coast, his family grew along the way. In 1962 he settled his family in Phoenix, AZ and went to work for Empire Machinery Co. In 1972 he moved to Show Low where he continued selling Caterpillar equipment in the White Mountain are retired there after 30 plus years. He served on the Senior Patrol for 10 years. His passions were golf, bowling, playing cards and watching sports and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. A Memorial for Bob will be Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 320 N. 9th St., in Show Low, Arizona.
