Charles Henry Cavins, Sr.

Charles Henry Cavins, Sr. died unexpectedly from a very brief illness in the very early morning hours of Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his home in Lakeside, Arizona.  He was 77 years old.  Charles was born on a Monday, August 7, 1939 in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona to his parents, the late Henry and Alice (Clay) Cavins.  Charles worked for many years in the Phoenix area for Womack Construction as a drywall taper.  He last worked for Brady Construction in San Diego.  Charles will be always known for the fantastic stories he would share with others.  He was a great storyteller.  When he and his sweet wife, Suzanne "Sue" moved to the White Mountains, they settled in Lakeside right on the shores of Rainbow Low where, literally part of their property is under the lake water.  Since living here, they've considered it their little spot of heaven on earth.Charles Henry Cavins, Sr. is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suzanne "Sue" (Lillibridge) Cavins of Lakeside.  His children:  Tammy Keen of Lakeside, Arizona, Charles, Jr. "Chuck" (Nora) Cavins of San Diego, California, Michelle Pontious of Eugene, Oregon, Heather Pontious of Maperville, Illinois, Frank (Sandy) Cavins of San Diego, California; his sister, Alice May (Billy) Sheridan of Queen Creek, Arizona; his brother, Harold Ray (Sylvia) Cavins of Southern California and is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.The funeral service for Charles will begin 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane in Lakeside, Arizona, where the visitation and viewing will begin 1 hour prior.  The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Lakeside Cemetery.Charles' family thankfully acknowledges the kindness and expressions of sympathy they have received during this difficult time and are especially grateful for the prayers offered up on their behalf.
