Elfi Ursula Gomez

July 18, 1942 — May 2, 2017

Elfi Ursula Gomez, of Lakeside, Arizona peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 2, 2017.  She was 74.  Elfi was born on July 18, 1942 in West Berlin, Germany.  In 1962 she moved to the United States.  Not knowing the English language she quickly taught herself how to speak English by watching American TV which lead her to learn how to read and write the language.  She then obtained her citizenship in 1963. They moved to Colorado before moving to Arizona where she fell in love with the Arizona Sun. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, her dogs, disco dancing (The Bump), the ocean/ swimming pools and good times with her family and friends.  She was a strong, hardworking, entrepreneur.  Her first business was Elfi’s Pizza  located in Glendale Arizona where she was known for making the best pizza in town. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her children, Michael (Carol) Harris, Deborah Harris and Patricia (Jeff Rhyan) Harris; grandchildren, Kristina, Dana, Shantey, Rhianna, Marina, Daryl, Devin and Brick; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Carla Bankard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse and her parents Horst and Ursula. Private services will be held.
