Barbara Louise Lugowski, of Vernon, Arizona passed away on April 17, 2017 at her home in Vernon. Barbara was born to her parents the late, Cleo and Jewel (McCain) Hunter on May 22, 1950 in Manchester, Ohio. She graduated college with a Bachelors in Nursing and she had an intense passion for helping others. An “adrenaline junkie” she loved to go skiing and rafting. She had a true zest for life and loved the outdoors. She was very creative and a skilled artist. She enjoyed creating various jewelry pieces and beadwork. She was an excellent painter and has one of her paintings in the Stanford General Store. Her dream of owning her own ranch is what brought her to the White Mountains when she was able to purchase the Broken Wheel Ranch in Vernon. She loved her many animals on the ranch including her horses and her donkey. A loving mother, grandmother and friend she will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her children, Melissa Langston of Vernon and Bryan Stultz of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Charles Burdine of Vernon and Elizabeth Burdine of Tennessee; great-grandchild, Abby May Hinkle of Tennessee; a sister, Judy Zornes of Ohio and brother, Dennis Hunter of New Mexico, Rory Nosker, Julie Davis and Lyndsey Matloc of Vernon as well as many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toby Lugowski; twin-sister, Carol Edmunds and brothers, David and Jimmy Hunter. A celebration of her life will be held at her home, 487 ACR 3144, Show Low from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
