George Edwin Nelson

George Edwin Nelson, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home in Show Low, Arizona. He was born May 21, 1925 in Coldbrook Township, Warren County, Illinois to Harold Luster Nelson and Agnes Roslinda Kimmery Nelson. He married Shirley Childers on July 5, 1947. George had a great personality and was liked by all that knew him. He served in WWII as a Navy Quartermaster 2nd Class and he was a 60 year Mason of Alpha Lodge 155 in Galesburg, Illinois. George will be sorely missed and happily remembered by family and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley and a son John M. Nelson. George is survived by: a son David E. Nelson of Show Low, Arizona, a daughter Judith A. (Daniel) Slankard of Dunlap, Illinois and a son Dean A. Nelson; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. No public services are planned at this time.  Arrangements were handled by Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
