Our loving mother and grandmother, Joann DeHose Susan peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father on April 3, 2017 in Lakeside, Arizona. She was 86. Joann was born on April 6, 1931 in Whiteriver, Arizona to the late William DeHose and Helen Miles. Joann was known throughout the state for her amazing beadwork. She was fortunate enough to have made many beadwork items for many prominent senators and well known people. She was an excellent seamstress having made many camp dresses for her family members and friends. She used to work in Holbrook and Show Low for many years before moving back to Whiteriver to continue her beadwork. She enjoyed T.V. and word search puzzles but spending time with her family was most important. She was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her daughters, Olphelia Endfield, Emmie Cromwell (Elvis), Ruthie Lupe, Gwen Billy (Ken) and Starla Cheney all of Whiteriver; sons, Philander Susan, Starling Cheney, Jr. (Irmalyn) and Myran Craig Moody of Whiteriver; sisters, Delores Crocker Alchesay and Judy Dazen of Whiteriver and brother, Ernie Crocker of Whiteriver; 33 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, Arianna Aday.
