Randall (Randy) Cox, Sr. passed away peacefully, at his home in Snowflake, AZ, on March 11, 2017.He was born on February 16, 1935 in Eldorado, Illinois. His parents were Monroe and Iva Cox and he was the sixth of 8 children.He worked as a machinist in St. Louis, Mo. and then in Elgin, IL, and Phoenix, AZ. When moving to Snowflake, AZ in 1978 he worked for Navajo County as road grade operator, until his retirement in 1994.He was an athlete, playing all sports. He started out as a caddie on the golf course in Alton. He was especially close, growing up, with his nephews, Byford Roberts and Ray Roberts (dec'd). They were like brothers.He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 63 years; daughter, Penny, (Bob) Page; son, Randall (Randy) Jr. (Karen); grandsons, Nathan Randall, Matthew (Tosha), Eric (Cyndie), Jacob (Cassie); granddaughters, Brittnee Cox and Alisha (Jose) Gonzalez; sister, Shirley (Bob) Torrez and brother, Jerry (Sharon) Cox. Also, many nephews, nieces, lots of family, friends and golfing buddies. His great-grandchildren are Brian Randall, Hayley, Damian, Liam Randall, Patrick, Morgyn, Bella, Christian, Maya, Kayden, Jonnee, Landon, Chance, Logan, Cody, and Jericho.He was preceded in death by son, John Cox; sisters, Rose and Doris; and brothers, Ralph, Clifford and James (Pete).We will all miss him and he will always be in our hearts and will never be forgotten. He touched many lives over his 82 years.The family would like to thank the wonderful staff from Hospice Compassus for all of the help, support & kindness given to their family.A public Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 6-7:00pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 84 E. 19 S., Snowflake, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 17, at 1:00 pm, at the Valley View Baptist Church, 1212 S. Main St., in Snowflake, with visitation 1 hour prior.Burial will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
