Grover Delano Spradling, of Show Low, Arizona passed away with his loving wife of 57 ½ years by his side on March 10, 2017. He was 79. Grover was born on August 7, 1939 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late, Arthur L. and Goldie (Grimes) Spradling. Grover was a Golden Glove Champion in 1951 before entering the United States Air Force in 1956 where he was sent to Arkansas for boot camp. He was stationed in Germany and it was by chance that he met the woman that would soon become his wife. They were married in 1959 and shared many wonderful years before his passing. He was then deployed from Texas to the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. His military career spanned 25 years before his retirement in 1980. Grover loved the arts and enjoyed woodworking and painting to keep him busy. He was an avid outdoorsman spending time with his loved ones fishing and hunting. He was liked by everyone he encountered but none more than by his own family. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Grover will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Karen of Show Low; daughter, Monic of California; sons, Michael of El Mirage, Arizona and Mark (Lisa) of Gilbert, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the White Mountain Hospice Foundation, PO Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 in Grover’s name.
