Richard Eugene Born, 91, of Show Low, Arizona peacefully passed away on February 1, 2017 at his home with his loving wife at his side. He was born on September 12, 1925 in Camden, New Jersey to his parents Harry and Annie (Campbell) Born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry; and sister Monica Spelling. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana; daughters, Kathy, Dori and Lori and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Richard joined the Navy and served as a rear gunner and an airplane mechanic. He graduated from U of A Engineering College with honors and received a Masters from USC. Throughout his life he worked for several aircraft companies retiring from Hughes before moving to Show Low. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, boater, sailor, skier and builder. He was Commander of the Power Squadron in Tucson as well as the President of the White Mountain Square Dance Club, and Sr. and Jr. Warden of the Church of Our Saviour. He attended the White Mountain United Methodist Church at the time of his passing. A memorial Service will be held at the White Mt. United Methodist Church in Show Low at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Reverend Michael Downey and Michael Brown will officiate.
