Angel Lunt

August 1, 1956 — December 23, 2016

Angel Lunt died on Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona from complications of the H1N1 flu virus.  She was 60 years old.  Angel was born Angelina Julia on August 1, 1956, in McNary, Arizona to her parents, Jose and Helen (Romero) Fernandez.Angel was a graduated member of Blue Ridge High School - Class of 1974 in Pinetop, Arizona.  During high school, she loved to play volleyball and was an excellent team player.  She has called the White Mountains "home" throughout her entire life and loved everything about this little piece of Heaven.  In her younger years, Angel worked in the banking industry working at Valley National Bank of Arizona and later, First Interstate Bank.  For the past 20 years, she worked for the Pinetop-Lakeside Sanitary District in its administration office.  Angel always had a close and loving relationship with her family.  It started with her parents, when she was a little girl.  She always made them a priority in her life.  She loved to travel to the valley to visit them and help them with whatever they needed.  To her, they were greatest examples of what unconditional love is.  She was especially close with her sister.  She loved visiting with her and how they would reminisce their growing up years together.  They truly were the best of friends.  She also enjoyed her annual road trip to New Mexico with her friend, Linda, to pick up bag after bag of green chilies.  She would use those green chilies throughout the year for her special "Angel" cooking.  Frequently, Angel could be found in the kitchen cooking.  She loved to cook for others and everyone loved her cooking!  Angel also looked forward to her regular trips to Lake Roosevelt where she always had a blast riding around on the ATVs and fishing.  She loved spending time there with her family and friends.More than anything, Angel loved her grandchildren and would spoil them at every opportunity, as only a grandma could do!  Between them, they kept many secrets as to what she would allow them to do and eat.  They always loved a good visit with Grandma!  Angel was blessed with the kindest of hearts.  She loved people and would always do for others before she would do for herself.  She taught her family to stand strong and to not let others walk all over them nor take advantage of them.  She was the kind of woman who would always speak her mind and wasn't afraid to let you know if you were doing wrong.  Her advice was always the way she saw it, whether or not, it was what you wanted to hear.  Angel only wanted the best of things to happen to her family and friends, and did whatever was within her power to make it happen.Angel was to be retiring in 2 years and was already working on her retirement plan.  Her husband will be retiring at the end of this year and she was looking forward to being able to spend their retirement years together.  Last year, Angel went on a trip to San Carlos, Mexico with her son, nephew and friends and got a good taste of what her retirement would be like.  She loved that trip and the time she was able to spend with her boy.Angel is survived by her husband, Larry Lunt of Show Low, Arizona; son, Michael Lunt of Show Low, Arizona; step-daughter, Melissa (Ken) Carner of Montrose, Colorado; her parents, Joe and Helen Fernandez of Mesa, Arizona; 2 grandchildren:  Parker Lunt, Lerimy Carner; great-granddaughter, Maci Carner; sister, Jo-Ann (Lou) Garza of Chandler, Arizona; her in-laws; 7 nephews; 1 niece and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Bonifacio and Genevieve (Malone) Fernandez, Grandma Della & Emil Romero and by a step-son, Chris Lunt.      Memorial Services for Angel will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Show Low Elks Lodge #2090, 805 East Whipple, Show Low, AZ.More information will updated to this website as soon as available.
