T. Doreen Stuart

Teddy Doreen Stuart died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at her daughter's home in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona from causes incident to her age.  She was 90 years old.  Doreen, as she was known, was born on Saturday, June 12, 1926, to her parents, the late Walter Larcum and Nettie Ann (Hatch) Lewis.Doreen was a member of Holbrook High School's Graduating Class of 1944.  While in school she was a member of its Drum and Bugle Corps.  It was during her high school years that Doreen met the love of her life, Virgil Stuart.  After graduating, the couple wed on June 4, 1944, in Gallup, New Mexico.  In 1960, their marriage was solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Throughout her long life, Doreen was a loving homemaker to her family.  In August of 1993, after 49 years of marriage, Virgil passed away.  Her children and grandchildren would constantly remind her of the happiness she shared with him.  She also found a great deal of comfort knowing that their marriage was a forever union and that she would be separated from him for only a short time.  She was an active member of the LDS Church and had the opportunity to serve in many callings through the years.Doreen is survived by her children:  Dana (Gary) Fawcett of Snowflake, Arizona, V. Craig (Cynthia) Stuart of Holbrook, Arizona, Charles "Chuck" (Margie) Stuart of Kingman, Arizona, W. Brent (Debbie) Stuart of Thatcher, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Linda Stuart, of Kingman, Arizona; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, Doreen was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Lee Stuart in November of 2013 and by a sister, Thelma Jean Lewis, who died as an infant of 6 months.  The public visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South Street in Snowflake, Arizona.  The funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the Silver Creek Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 309 W. Willow Lane in Taylor, Arizona where additional visitation will begin 1 hour prior.  The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.Doreen's family is thankful for all the expressions of sympathy they have received during this time and are especially grateful for the prayers offered up in their behalf.
